The fhp story
Our Commitment to Arts and Education
Fire Haus Projects is a Miami-based non-profit organization that supports and presents cultural activities and events throughout Florida. We create, promote and disseminate live and online musical performances, fine arts exhibits, dance performances, lectures, readings from poets, authors, and playwrights. Our organization promotes other publicly interactive cultural programming in English and Spanish. Fire Haus Projects persentations are made available to the entire community, with an emphasis on affordable admissions, young and senior audiences. Online presentations are made available to the widest possible public around the globe, including a diverse variety of free content.
Past, Present and Future
In 2006, a group of artists and educators began promoting experienced and emerging talent. The group consisted of Lilia Fontana (art critic, curator, art administrator and professor of humanities), along with professors from Florida International University, Miami Dade College and their art students in addition to countless volunteers.
By June of 2007, Fire Haus Projects received its official non-profit tax-exempt status. The venues for the exhibitions and performances organized included the office spaces of buildings throughout the Westchester area. Our organization's activities grew into seasonally recurring presentations, including our collaborations with The Unconservatory, such as Altered Arts Festival and Gala For Two Pianos. During the pandemic, Fire Haus Projects made an investment in online productions, including "A Completely Apolitical, Nonconfrontational, Family Friendly, International Holiday Celebration," "World Walks" and "Snapshots from the Cuban Diaspora ~ An Odyssey in Images." These inital online offerings have led to a vibrant mix of virtual and live presentations. Our largest production to date, "Always Remember," THE musical about the Cuban-American experience by Marilyn Morales, was presented on the 2022 Thanksgiving weekend to standing ovations at the Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center in Cutler Bay, Florida. Our organization continues to present performances, exhibitions, lectures and workshops in Miami Dade County and beyond. Please keep returning to FireHausProjects.org for updates on our new, exciting endeavors!
